It’s a singing bowl alright
As a disclaimer I have only recently received this singing bowl, but I have yet to see a review describe it in depth, so I will attempt to do so. My opinion may be subject to change after time has passed, but the bottom line is that I like it. If 4.5 stars were an option, that is what I would review this bowl as.Benefits:It can get loud (if desired), and it sounds beautiful. It also looks beautiful, with the official pictures provided not doing it justice. It doesn’t look or physically feel particularly cheap, and it is authentically made in Nepal, which has a lot of history with the singing bowl. The mallet has a soft end for striking and playing the bowl, unlike other mallets being sold on Amazon. The bowl comes in a bag to prevent damage, and the bag also looks nice. Also my cats like the sound.Neutral:It is small, perfect for holding in your palm, but not exactly the easiest mode of playing. However, bigger bowls cost much more, so this is one of the better bowls you can get for the price. Sometimes when playing my fingers accidentally touch the bowl or accidentally take the mallet off the bowl, which makes me have to start again from the beginning, but this is something that practice would solve.If you are planning on using this to meditate, it sounds beautiful and clears my mind, but it can take me out of the meditative/relaxed state when I have to continuously restart playing because my fingers accidentally tapped the bowl and stopped the vibration. Again, practice would solve this, but if you are planning on meditating immediately upon getting it this may be a problem.Also as a side note for my meditation point, I have a strong desire to play this bowl because I love the sound. With other forms of meditation sometimes it feels like a chore to start, but this bowl is so small, portable, and beautiful sounding that I frequently find myself reaching for it. I would imagine it would break if you dropped it on a hard surface though, so you may not want to play it or store it anywhere, but it is easy to keep nearby. If you are looking for it for meditation purposes make sure you do your research and look at other meditation tools (such as a chime, cymbals, a breathing light, or even a singing bowl machine) as well as listen to them before you make a final decision. This does work, but once again it is not as mindless as some of these other tools may be.Disadvantages:The pillow provided does not work as intended. The bowl slides around on it when I use it, so I have to resort to playing it in my palm, which can be difficult. Also, depending on what you are looking for, the size can be a disadvantage. It’s loud enough for my liking, but playing the bowl in your palm can be difficult.

Pretty, decent quality, not built to actually play
I bought this to replace a much bigger Tibetan singing bowl i had that was stolen from me and i do not have the money to replace. this bowl is very pretty and teh little tuffet it comes with to sit on is also very cute. the bowl will not play or get a tone if you are holding it in your hand which is obvious. but on the cushion because the botton is not flat and it is rounded it spins when you try to play it so you can tap it for one tone but the entire point of the bowl is to be able to sustain the tone using the outer rim and then covered edge of the handtool. but it doesnt work because its too slippery and rounded and the bowl spins and does not hve enough resistance to stay in place. i like it but feel sad to have spent precious Money on a bowl i cant play

Absolute crap. Doesn’t sing. Mallet included is useless. I’ve only gotten noise with a rubber mallet. You get what you pay for.

Really beautiful small bowl with popping colours, good sound to the bowl and I also find it quite easy to play though there is definitely an art to it so should improve with practice. It also has a gorgeous bag and cushion.
