The Best Cup I’ve Tried for Heavy Days
I have been using this product since May 2021. I never write product reviews, but to be honest, this product has been so good for me that I felt I should. I have tried other brands of menstrual cups, and the larger ones seem to be either too soft or not big enough. The large size is perfect for my heaviest day. I used to go through a super tampon about every 1-2 hours, and even with 25-27ml cup, I would have to get up once or twice at night to change it. With the large Venus cup (max of 47ml), I have had no problems sleeping through the night and no big rush to empty it in the morning either. It doesn’t seem to by physically much different than other brands, just wider at the base. I have found that the wider base is helpful because you can sort of feel it getting heavier when it is about half full… so I can 100% relax. I know it isn’t leaking or about to be full to the brim. It is comfortable and only noticeable if I think about it.I don’t worry about going for long walks, getting up in the night, or running lots of errands. On heavy days, I can easily wear it for 6+ hours without a problem. I decided to write this review because I realized that I often forget that I have my period now, even on the heaviest day. It is not a big deal anymore. I don’t know that it is life-changing, but it is definitely life-improving.The learning curve for me was incredibly short. I figured out that a z-fold works best on the large cup on my second insertion and have had no further issues. It is much firmer than other high capacity cups… It is so quick and easy to put in that I use it for the entire cycle and don’t bother with the small one.I believe it comes with a pamphlet on different ways to fold it, for people new to cups. I’ve found that a z-fold, gentle tug out, and then push back in gets it set perfectly. As for removal, the width of the base makes it easy to grab, which breaks the seal with no problem. For those who have used cups before, you won’t have any issues with insertion and removal. That’s it. I’m a fan, and I don’t think I’ll be investing in any other styles or sizes until Venus inevitably tweaks their design and ruins it. Companies love doing that.

It works great for heavy flow and is comfortable
I have a really heavy menstrual flow the first few days of my period (my mother said she did too, guess it’s a genetic thing). Tampons are pretty much useless with heavy flow, wearing an overnight pad during the day is ridiculously bulky and uncomfortable. Menstrual cups can hold a lot between changes, so I decided to give them a go.I’ve tried the DivaCup that I found at the local drugstore, but then I saw this Venus Cup that can hold more. The DivaCup has more of a V shape, whereas the Venus Cup is more of a U shape, which gives the Venus Cup more capacity. I thought it might feel uncomfortable with the U shape, but it’s not, it sits up high enough where you don’t know it’s there and it’s got a nice soft silicone material. It definitely suctions in place to prevent any leaks. I got the Venus Cup Starter Kit so I could try both sizes, but so far I’ve just used the larger size and it’s worked fine. The cups come with nice canvas-type bags to store them in, and I received a booklet that has detailed instructions, FAQ and even troubleshooting tips. That’s super awesome for a first-timer–honestly, after looking through the booklet, you’ll pretty much be an expert on menstrual cups–it’s that amazingly useful.Since I’ve used a menstrual cup before, I personally didn’t even need the instructions– just opened the box, rinsed off the cup, and popped it in no problem–but again, I’d used a menstrual cup before. The first time I’d ever tried using a menstrual cup was a different story! The main things I need from a menstrual cup are large holding capacity with no leaks and that the cup is comfortable. I also want the cup to last a long time so that it pays for itself with the money I don’t spend on pads or tampons. This is made from high-quality silicone that can stand up to boiling, so I get the feeling it’s going to last a long time (booklet says it could last 10 or more years). Also, the Venus Cup material has a purple color that stays true, unlike the clear DivaCup that starts turning yellow after one or two uses. What else can I add? Oh, the shipping was very fast, I received it 2 days after ordering (on a Saturday) even though I don’t have Amazon Prime. It works for me and is comfortable, so I can highly recommend the Venus Cup if you are searching for a menstrual cup to buy.

It seems like i have a faulty cup as there are no holes in the cup! I cannot tell when it’s popped open.

I bought this as I get heavy periods and can go through the whole night with no spillage! It’s soft and ready to use, highly recommended.

Not happy with the packaging. Product looks very cheap and already used. No value for money.
