No pills needed
I purchased this TENS unit on the advice of my physician to help manage muscular pain resulting from a car accident. My initial impression of the device was largely positive. It looked impressive, with a bright digital screen and clear imagery that I found very useful for navigating the settings. However, I did encounter a couple of minor quality issues. The connecting cables felt somewhat flimsy, and some of the included sticky electrode pads did not adhere properly, even after I carefully followed all instructions. My main concern, though, is the battery life. I'm unsure if the higher intensity settings drain the power quickly, or if my specific unit might be somewhat defective. While this is an inconvenience, it's not a dealbreaker for me, as I only require it for about 30 minutes of use per day.
Overall, I am satisfied with its performance in managing my pain and would recommend this unit. I would rate it a solid 6 out of 10.

Immediate disruption of pain! I am in chiropractic care for very painful “frozen shoulder” and “Adhesive capsulitis” around the ball of my shoulder.The pain is non-stop. I could not sleep and had to resort to medication to just get though a day. I knew that was not a good solution to getting well. A friend told me about his mini TENS unit and said it really helped him with knee pain. I had one over-nighted. Note: It takes 10 hours to correctly charge the lithium battery : ( , but its quick to use, the pads are easy to attach and its really easy to choose a comfortable setting. ***READ the instructions well. I didn’t have the electrode cable fully plugged in the little unit, and it gave me a good buzz! Once I was familiar with the intensity settings (I personally could only use Level 1), then every 20 minutes I would move the position of the two electrodes to a slightly different spot. You can use all 4 electrodes at once for larger areas. It really did a great job interrupting the pain, and later that day, without the use of the unit, my pain was quite a bit less overall. It worked so well, I did not need medication, or the heating pad, and could sleep. I love that I can hook up the electrodes under my t-shirt and carry the very small unit in my pocket while I am out and about. Of course it will not replace gentle, proper stretching for your specific injury or issue, and it won’t replace using cold packs, or seeing your chiropractor or physical therapist if needed. I would definitely recommend this to mediate pain sensations safely and avoid drugs that will just ruin your immune system and gut.Worth every penny!

Better than I’d hoped for
Update almost 10 months after first review below:This unit has proved to be an excellent product. As a result, I’ve upgraded from 4 to 5 stars. It holds a charge for months, even with constant use. The various modes are great, depending on the injury and I what my body needs at the time. I did find that when I use both wires instead of just one I need to increase the strength of the pulse but this is a minor issue since it works great with the increase. Usually I need only a 3 level if I’m using just one output. I cannot say enough good things about this unit! 7/30/18Works well. Smaller than I thought but although it’s lightweight, it does the job. I had a larger one from a different manufacturer that died after one year (out of warranty) and it would have cost more to repair than to buy a new one. I like that it comes with it’s own carry case to keep everything together. I don;t use all of the modes but the ones I do use are very helpful. I have an injured IT band muscle that periodically gives me problems and this unit relieves the discomfort with about 30 minutes of use. The lifetime warranty is the primary reason I chose this brand/model.
