So far so good – works like a charm
So far so good. I got this because another Wahoo chest strap heart rate monitor was intermittently not working. I like the long battery life and price.I paired both ant+ and Bluetooth with both of my wahoo bike computers and TrainerRoad on my Windows 11 PC that I built.I used it tonight in Bluetooth with TrainerRoad and it worked flawlessly. There were no instructions for installing the strap but it was pretty easy to figure out.It came fully charged. The only drawback is it has a proprietary USB-A charging device but all units like this have that.I attached some pictures too

Worked well after some initial trouble getting it to pair
I had a lot of trouble getting something to connect with this arm band, my limited experience with fitness devices possibly didn’t help. The box (which is ridiculously hard to read with dark text on a black background) mentions Android, but my two Android 15 phones wouldn’t connect. Actually the error message said the arm band “refused the connection”. The box also mentions Garmin, so I created an account and tried the app but the only choice was from a select list of devices and this Chileaf device wasn’t on it. I use Zwift with a stationary cycler, I tried it, but it did not detect this device. What worked for me was the Polar app. I just wanted to easily see my heart rate while on the treadmill without any fancy features, and so far it’s doing that well. The instructions are not particularly clear. It states to “wear the band on the upper portion of the forearm”. This seems clear enough, except this is followed by a sketch showing the band worn on a forearm, and worn on an upper arm. I tried it on my upper but it did not work for me, a reading was displayed in the app but it did not vary, at all, with exertion. The forearm position worked reliably well and there is an almost instant response to changes in exertion. My needs are simple, so pairing this device with Polar works well for me.

Great deal, excellent performance
Perfect performance at half the price. magnet on charger could be stronger but it works great.

Comfy, works through sweat, but app choices on Android suck
So far pretty happy with this heart rate monitor for all the reasons you’d expect. It ACTUALLY continues to track heart rate accurately while I’m exercising and sweaty. Functionality through sweat has been super bad with other ones I’ve tried, especially “smart” watches. I put it pretty high on my forearm closer to my elbow facing up towards me and it’s comfortable enough that I forget I’m wearing it.I’ve used it for a couple weeks and only charged it once or twice, but it never died, it just doesn’t have a battery level indicator which would be a nice addition. Once paired, it’s easy to use with just a one-button control for on and off.Overall $50 seems reasonable since it actually works but perhaps more like $30-40 would be fair since there is NO SOFTWARE support included with this, you MUST rely on 3rd party apps to track the data. This is perhaps a bigger issue on Android since we don’t have an equivalent to Cardiogram for basic HR tracking. I have to use Strava and record a “stair stepper” or other non-GPS activity when I’m working out to track and view my HR afterwards.

Finally, A Heart Rate Monitor That Outlasts My Weekly Workout Schedule
I have been on a quest for the perfect heart rate monitor for years, cycling through uncomfortable chest straps that chafe and wrist-based trackers that lose contact the moment I start sweating heavily. When I strapped this CHILEAF armband onto my forearm, the difference was immediately noticeable. The soft, breathable strap sits snugly against my skin without cutting off circulation, and honestly, ten minutes into my warm-up, I completely forgot I was wearing it. It is liberating to have that level of comfort while still getting the granular data I crave for my zone training. The optical sensor sits flat and secure, meaning I don’t get those annoying data dropouts when I’m doing burpees or aggressive intervals on the bike. The connectivity on this device is practically seamless, which is a massive relief given how finicky fitness tech can be. I fired up Zwift on my iPad and my Wahoo cycling computer simultaneously, and thanks to the dual-band ANT+ and Bluetooth 5.0 capabilities, it shook hands with both devices instantly. I didn’t have to fiddle with settings or disconnect one to pair the other; it just worked. I also tested it with the Polar Beat app during a run and the Nike+ Run Club app for a recovery jog, and the integration was flawless every time. Seeing my live heart rate pop up on the screen without a struggle puts me in the right headspace to focus purely on my performance rather than troubleshooting connections. What truly sets this sensor apart for me, however, is the battery life. The claim of 60 hours is not an exaggeration; I have gone weeks without needing to reach for the charging cable. With my previous monitors, I was constantly anxious about them dying mid-run, but this thing is a marathon runner in a world of sprinters. I can get through an entire month of daily hour-long sessions and still have juice left over. The LED indicator is a helpful little feature that gives me a heads-up on the status, so I am never caught off guard, but honestly, the stamina of this battery changes the game for anyone who hates constantly plugging in their gear.I have also put the IP67 waterproof rating to the test during some particularly grueling, sweat-soaked indoor cycling sessions and a rainy outdoor trail run. It handled the moisture without a hiccup. Knowing that it is built to withstand heavy sweat and rain gives me the confidence to push harder without babying the electronics. The vibration alerts are another subtle but brilliant touch; getting a physical buzz when I hit my max heart rate zone keeps me honest and prevents me from overtraining without having to constantly stare at a screen. It feels like a premium, reliable piece of kit that has quickly become essential to my training routine.

Unable to connect the device to my phone or PC free apps – useless device to me
The only good things I can say about this is it is comfortable to wear, feels solidly made, and the power button is easy to use.I tried several different free tracking apps, including one of the ones that is supposed to be supported, but I could never get the apps to detect the device (never saw the device code in any Bluetooth device list except on my windows computer; i.e. does not connect to the free apps I tried). Maybe with a paid subscription app it would work, but not worth the money and effort to try.As such, this device is completely useless to me.

The CHILEAF Heart Rate Monitor Armband can be used for all day tracking of my heart rate, which is exactly what I wanted, and so did my cardiologist. It is a small device measuring 1 3/4” long and 1” wide. According to the seller, it is meant to be worn on the upper arm or forearm, close to the elbow joint. It attaches with a soft, light, breathable perforated strap, which is fastened by velcro. There is no screen, only an indicator light showing the current status of the device, such as charging status, battery status, power On and Off status. This information is shown via colour and flashing lights. There is no information screen, and the user must connect via Bluetooth to a phone or other device. This is where I have difficulty. My cardiologist is recommending a device which gives instant results, like heart rate data, available immediately, and with alarms or warnings when different set rates or boundaries are reached. Such rates or boundaries must be set by the user for safe cardio health, as recommended by the doctor, and specific for that patient. Having that information on a remote screen, reviewed later, is not ideal.I did try to find an appropriate app on my iPhone, as none of the apps suggested were available via my Apple account, at least for this region in Canada. I will keep looking. If I find one, I will connect later since I have surgery scheduled which takes me out of my fitness routine for the immediate future. Finding and purchasing a health app will have to come later. The CHILEAF Heart Rate Sensor is a light, easily worn heart rate sensor. It has the advantage of being very light, and easily worn and comfortable during workouts. Its small size and weight is well tolerated when worn either above or below the elbow. It can be worn in numerous activities, including swimming. It has a long battery life and magnetic charging. This CHILEAF Heart Rate Sensor may be perfect for more youthful bodies, or folks in good health with controllable, or no restrictions, and can access the information from this device at their leisure.A comfortable health tracker at a reasonable price.

The heart rate armband feels comfortable to wear and stays in place well during workouts. Readings appear consistent and accurate across different activities like running, cycling, and indoor training. Connectivity with popular fitness apps is smooth, and switching between ANT+ and Bluetooth works without issues. Battery life is impressive and lasts many sessions before needing a recharge. The only small downside is that the initial pairing can take a moment, but once connected, performance remains stable and dependable.

For the price point and the difficulties with getting this unit to pair properly, I don’t think it is worth it.The unit itself isn’t bad, but when I use it I don’t want to necessarily check my phone for my current heart rate. I want it to be readily available for me to check during workouts just by looking at my wrist so I can adjust my intensity and rest periods. There are a lot of smart watches that offer that ability for a slightly higher price point, or a comparable price for a knock off brand.I compared results with my current fitbit alongside this unit, and both seemed similar, or just a single digit or two off though the difference might be that my fitbit is on my wrist while this is higher up on my arm as suggested. To avoid ripping on a working product, I will acknowledge that the battery life is nice. It can go multiple uses without needing a recharge (assuming you are only using it for workouts and not wearing it continuously). Once you have successfully paired the unit with an app, the details seem reliable and accurate. It comes with a USB charger that attaches to the back of the unit to charge, and seems to charge quickly. All in all, there is nothing inherently wrong with the unit, though there are better options out there for a better price point.
