Awkward but effective
I’ve been using the Arctic Flex Large Ice Pack for Back regularly for pain relief, and overall it’s been effective and versatile, but not without a few quirks.The extra-large gel pack is great for covering a wide area like my lower back — the gel stays flexible even when frozen so it contours nicely to my body, which feels much more comfortable than a rigid ice pack. I also appreciate the wearable design with straps so it stays in place on its own, letting me relax or get light tasks done while using it.In terms of pain relief, it definitely helps with muscle fatigue and swelling when applied after workouts or long days. The cold is noticeable and soothing, and I’ve even used it as a hot pack for heat therapy, which works pretty well too.That said, there are a few downsides. The pack is quite large and a bit heavy, so adjusting the straps and getting it positioned right can take a little effort — sometimes I need help to tighten it properly. It also doesn’t stay super cold forever; after about 20–30 minutes the chill starts to fade, especially if I’m wearing it over thicker clothing.The Velcro straps are handy but somewhat finicky — they’re strong, but adjusting them to just the right fit takes a few tries. For people expecting something lightweight and compact, this might feel clunky.In summary: this ice pack is effective for broad-area cold or hot therapy and the wearable design is a big plus. It’s not perfect — it’s somewhat bulky and the cooling doesn’t last all day — but for relief from back muscle pain and soreness, it does the job well.

So comforting
This is exactly what I needed. It’s so hard to find something that can give relief to such a large area while also allowing for some mobility. Usually I see smaller packs that you have to keep moving around so you hit all the spots and you have to manually hold them in place. Often packs like these that are designed to stay in place on their own tend to be very specific to one part (e.g. shaped for one shoulder, etc) but this covers so much area and stays in place really well.I have a lot of pain in my neck and shoulders so the relief that this has brought me has been so wonderful. It’s equally effective as a cold pack or a hot pad and it’s easy to move around with it so I don’t have to stop everything to take care of pain. I really love it.

Effective But Gets Stiff In The Freezer
I ordered this ice pack for use on my back and shoulders. The pack is fairly large, and has straps that can be adjusted around the body to keep the pack in place. One side is blue and of harder material, and the other side is gray and softer. The pack appears well made and sturdy. I placed the pack in the freezer overnight to get it cold before use. After that amount of freezer time, I found the pack to be somewhat stiff, and not as easy to put on my back as I had hoped. I was able to place it on my back with the gray side against my back, and worked to get the straps secured. This is a process that some people may need help with, especially if you are having musculoskeletal pain that inhibits movement. I found that it was tricky to get the straps in place in a way that would hold the pack steady. The velcro of the straps also caught at the clothing I was wearing, and could cause damage to some fabric and apparel, such as wool sweaters. It would be more convenient to use the pack while lying down, which would keep it in place better. The pack stays cold for at least the twenty minutes that I used it for, and I found that it is effective in providing cold therapy to a large area. It can be used for various parts of the body, as there is a lot of surface area. This pack does take up a lot of space in the freezer. I have not used the pack for warm therapy, but it can be heated in a microwave. Again, due to the size, a large microwave would be required. The price is reasonable for the size and efficacy of the product.

This is PERFECT and soooo affordable at only $20!It fits me perfectly with the adjustable straps. I will probably buy a second one to keep my backside cool as well. Super happy with this purchase!

Large ice pack for my back
These work great after being out in the sun all day with the sun beating down on me. I would come home to the ice pack waiting for me in the fridge and wrap it on my back as I reclined on my couch. This ice pack is dual purpose with one side clothed and the other side nylon. I can have the full coldness of the ice pack on the blue nylon side and cool down quickly and maybe on the colder days when I heat up this pack then I would wear it on the clothed side to warm up. The pack is easy to put on and getting the straps from the sides and crossing them from below to the other side of my shoulders allows the pack to stay secure very well. This is a very good ice pack/heat pack.
